New foundation for orthostatic tremor
Recently, a foundation for patients with orthostatic tremor was founded. Orthostatic tremor is a rare movement disorder. Most people with OT experience a feeling of uncertainty while standing, due to quick, high frequency tremor in the muscles of their legs. This tremor occurs when people stand up, and disappears immediately when sitting down. Often, the tremor is not visible to the naked eye, even though patients can feel their tremor very well.
In the past few years, a Facebook page was set up for orthostatic tremor patients, and last year the Stichting Orthostatische Tremor (foundation for orthostatic tremor) was founded. If you are interested in this subject, and if you are able to read in Dutch, you can read more on their website www.orthostatischetremor.nl. You will find links to the different Facebook groups there too.
