Inspiring week at MDS congress Berlin
Last week, more than 25 researchers from Groningen presented their work at the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, which was hosted in Berlin.
The MDS congress is organized every year, and is globally regarded as the most important meeting for movement disorder specialists. From the 19th until the 23th of June, the City Cube in Berlin served as a beautiful meeting place for all 5000 international researcher who participated in this event. New scientific insights were presented at the plenary sessions and during the (guided) poster exhibitions.
On Monday 20 June, professor Marina de Koning-Tijssen gave an interesting teaching course on myoclonus. She discussed the various subtypes and explained how to make the right diagnosis. It was clear that the audience greatly appreciated her presentation.
The other researchers from Groningen, mainly PhD students and post docs, all presented a poster with their scientific results. In total, the group Movement Disorders Groningen had 22 different posters about a large variety of topics concerning hypokinetic and hyperkinetic movement disorders.
Thanks to the pleasant ambiance during the congress and the many encounters with international colleagues, all investigators got even more inspired to proceed with their research back home.
