M. Coenen
Maraike Coenen works as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in training at the neuropsychology sub-department of the Neurology department and the neonatology sub-department of the Pediatrics department at the UMCG. In addition, she works as a psychologist at the specialised Huntington's outpatient clinic of the Noorderbreath in Grou. She studied ortho-pedagogy at the University of Dortmund (Germany) and then psychology at the University of Groningen. She is doing her PhD on cognitive functions in children and young adults with dystonia and ataxia. In her daily work, she is mainly involved in the neuropsychological diagnosis of children with various neurological disorders (including movement disorders) and adults with Huntington's disease. In this group, she is also the study coordinator of Enroll-HD, a global observational study of the course of the disease, and, is involved in other scientific studies, such as fitness to drive in Huntington's disease.
