Drs. M. Helmus
Drs. M. Helmus works as a pediatric rehabilitation doctor at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). As a pediatric rehabilitation doctor, she is involved in consultations for movement disorders in children.
She studied Medicine at the University of Groningen and graduated in 2004. She did graduate research in developmental neurology. In 2011 she completed her training as a rehabilitation physician at the UMCG. Since then she has been working as a pediatric rehabilitation doctor, first at Revalidation Friesland and since 2012 at the UMCG. She works both in the Beatrixoord rehabilitation center and at the Groningen location, where she participates in several multidisciplinary consultations in the field of spasticity, cerebral palsy and movement disorders. She is committed to improving the quality of care, national projects and research. Together with the team of (para)medics, she is always looking for ways to improve the possibilities of and for the child with a movement disorder and to reduce the complaints.
